1. Accepted Payment Methods
We accept the following payment methods for all orders placed on tryhobbybox.myshopify.com:

2. When You Are Charged
For all standard orders, your payment method will be charged at the time you place your order, not when the order ships.
This includes:
- One-time product purchases
- Gift card purchases
For subscription boxes (if offered):
- Your payment method will be charged immediately upon signing up for your first box.
- For recurring subscriptions, your payment method will be charged automatically on the same day each month (the "billing date").
- You will receive an email receipt after each successful charge.

3. Payment Authorization and Pre-Approval
When you place an order, we may obtain a pre-approval (sometimes called an "authorization hold") for the full amount of your order. This is a standard practice that:
- Verifies your payment method is valid
- Ensures sufficient funds are available
- Temporarily reserves the funds with your bank or card issuer
This authorization hold typically appears as a pending charge on your account. The hold will either convert to an actual charge when your order is confirmed, or it will be released by your bank (usually within 3-7 business days, depending on your financial institution).
We do not have control over how long your bank holds authorized funds.

4. Pricing and Taxes
All prices listed on our website are in United States Dollars (USD).
Taxes:
- Sales tax will be applied to orders shipped within Maine, as our business is located in Corea, Maine 04624.
- For orders shipped to other states, you may be responsible for applicable use taxes based on your local laws.
- Tax rates are calculated based on the shipping address you provide at checkout.
Price Changes:
- We reserve the right to change prices for products at any time without prior notice.
- The price displayed at the time you place your order is the price you will pay.
- We do not offer price protection or refunds if a product's price decreases after your purchase.

5. Payment Security

All payment information is processed directly by our payment partners (Shopify Payments, PayPal, etc.). We never have access to your full credit card details.

6. Failed or Declined Payments
If your payment is declined or fails for any reason:
For one-time purchases:
- Your order will not be processed until payment is successful.
- You will be prompted to use a different payment method or contact your bank.
- We recommend checking with your financial institution if the issue persists.
For subscription boxes (if offered):
- If your recurring payment fails, we will attempt to charge your payment method again after 3 business days.
- If the second attempt also fails, we will notify you via email and your subscription will be paused.
- You have 14 days to update your payment information and resolve the failed payment.
- If payment is not resolved within 14 days, your subscription will be cancelled.
- Unpaid balances may be sent to collections at our discretion.
Insufficient funds or expired cards are the most common causes of payment failures.

7. Order Cancellations and Refunds
We reserve the right to cancel any order for any reason, including but not limited to:

- You will receive a full refund to your original payment method

We currently sell and ship only within the United States.

If you do not recognize a charge from Try Hobby Box on your statement:

We want to resolve any issues directly with you.
If you file an unjustified chargeback (for example, you received your order but disputed the charge anyway):
- Your account may be permanently suspended.
- You will be responsible for any fees we incur from the chargeback (typically $15-$25).
- We reserve the right to pursue collection of the original charge plus fees.
Legitimate chargebacks (fraud, unauthorized use of your card) will be honored and investigated.

11. Free Shipping and Payment
Please note our free shipping offer: Free standard shipping on orders over $35.
- Free shipping eligibility is calculated based on your order total BEFORE taxes and AFTER discounts.
